Geocells

Geocells are a geosynthetic formed by a semi-rigid three-dimensional structure in the shape of a honeycomb that is filled with topsoil, gravel, sand, cement, concrete or concrete, among other materials. Geocells are made of high-density polyethylene strips stabilized against ultraviolet radiation and joined by ultrasound welding, which provide a structural resistance not comparable with other systems.

The main functions of the particular structure of the Geocell are the confinement of soils, mainly granular with low cohesion; and erosion control, by minimizing or suppressing the effects of the erosive forces of water or wind to which soils are subjected.

Features

Lockdown

The geosynthetic material acts by preventing the movement or lateral displacement of materials, either by friction or mechanical interlocking mechanisms depending on their coefficient of interaction.

Erosion control

Geosynthetics prevent surface erosion of soil particles caused by surface water runoff and / or wind forces.

Reinforcement

The geosynthetic increases the bearing capacity of the land, acts in conjunction with the structural soil to produce a compound or "geo-soil", which works under tension and improves the resistance and deformation properties of the soil.

Coating

They can be used to coat surfaces, as elements of protection, erosion control, promoters of vegetation, waterproof coating, temporarily or even permanently.
