Landscaped Roofs with Geosynthetics
- Category: Geosynthetics
Landscaped roofs are a comprehensive waterproofing and drainage system for the placement of soil directly on the construction surface on roofs or roofs for the placement of plants, vegetation and gardens. The geomembrane system is the lightest available on the market and the one with the best guarantees of protection against humidity in the buildings, slabs and planters where it is installed.
Sistema Azoteas Ajardinadas G&G®
The G & G® Garden Roof System complies with the objective of generating green areas in urban spaces in any construction in general.
This system is the solution to place vegetation directly on a surface as it provides a totally waterproof and long-lasting barrier.
The G & G® Garden Roof System is simple and practical, consisting of three layers:
- GEOTEXTILE for protection. The geotextile is spread over the determined area, as a barrier to protect the geomembrane from punching and drilling.
- GEOMEMBRANA for waterproofing. The geomembrane, typically PVC, covers the entire area as a surface lining and is attached to the perimeter of the roof to ensure waterproofing. Being flexible, it adapts to the different areas that may be presented, it does not need to be thermofused to the ground. This remains free and only needs to be mechanically fixed to the perimeter of the roof, which gives the possibility of being installed in fractured slabs without the need to be repaired.
- GEODREN for drainage. The geodren is placed on the geomembrane to allow the passage of water, but not of the earth or substrate that is placed as a garden and functioning as a drainage system for the garden area.
On these layers, the type of nature and garden design that is intended is installed: grass, plants, flowers, etc. Creativity is the limit, even in some places these areas are used to plant and harvest food for self-consumption.
The G & G® Garden Roof System It has 10-year guarantee certificates and, in addition, it complies with the applicable regulations, including NADF-013-RNAT-2007, which establishes the technical specifications for the installation of naturalization systems in CDMX.
Environmental and static benefits
- They make up for the green areas lost by construction.
- They provide acoustic and thermal insulation.
- They produce oxygen and absorb CO2.
- Vegetation filters dust and dirt particles from the air, while absorbing harmful particles.
- They prevent the roofs from overheating and thereby reduce dust eddies.
- They reduce humidity variations in the air.
- Landscape beautification.
- They provide spaces for relaxation and tranquility, or for conviviality.
Protection benefits
- They protect buildings from UV rays and the elements.
- They provide impermeability, avoiding infiltrations to the construction.
Economic benefits
- They reduce the energy costs produced by the use of heating and cooling equipment inside the buildings.
- They reduce the temperature variations of the day - night cycle within the construction.
- It has a long useful life, if its installation and maintenance is adequate.
- Savings in waterproofing maintenance of the roof of buildings, since the installation materials, in the case of the G & G® system, have a useful life of more than 30 years if installed correctly.
- Energy savings by reducing the use of air conditioning or heating by up to a 40%. The effects known as "heat island" are reduced, and there is greater insulation between the interior temperature of the building and the exterior temperature.
- Rainwater harvesting. In addition to the fact that rooftop naturalization systems retain water, reducing saturation levels in the public drainage system during the rainy season and reducing the risk of flooding, it is also possible to adapt rainwater harvesting systems for storage and later. use of services and building work. Savings and decreased consumption of this vital liquid.
On G & G® We have the best geosynthetic materials on the market, which guarantees the durability of our landscaped roof system.
